Jesu will be returning with a new LP called Ascension, and that news has us impatiently excited to hear some new material from the Justin K. Broadrick-helmed shoegaze metal project. Fortunately, the wait is over with the premiere of a new track called "Birth Day."
As usual, "Birth Day" is a slow and heavy track with the songwriting of a pop song. On top of the thickly layered electric guitars are some unique synths, one that sounds like a harpsichord and another resembling a mellotron. The result adds a major classical influence to Jesu's crushing wall of sound.

Ascension will be released on May 10 via Caldo Verde.
