With Alan Sparhawk behind the boards and playing some of the instruments, and Mimi Parker contributing some drumming and vocals, there’s no way that Jessica Bailiff is going to avoid comparisons to Low, but she shouldn’t worry — she’s keeping fine company, after all. Hour of the Trace, her second album, showcases her lovely voice, and her occasionally stomp (ok, light step) on the distortion pedal provides contrast in sound if not in pace.
