Today (September 4) is release day for Eastern-inspired Montreal project Jerusalem in My Heart, who just dropped their album If He Dies, If If If If If If on Constellation. To celebrate, they have shared a video for the track "Ta3mani; Ta3meitu."
The track is a curious one, as minimal string instruments traces out Eastern modes while accompanied by haunting, reverb-doused singing in Arabic. The accompanying video is a cryptic, mysterious affair, as difficult-to-discern images are overlaid with visual noise and appear to melt away into white. It's a bit like watching a centuries-old painting aging and being restored within seconds.
It was directed by Jerusalem in My Heart member Charles-André Coderre in Beirut. Watch it below [via FACT].
