Following a fledgling career performing under the Castlemusic moniker, Toronto, ON folk chanteuse Jennifer Castle has emerged as a solo artist with her upcoming album, also called Castlemusic. The record is due in stores this spring, but we've obtained a stream of album track "Neverride" as an early sample.
With its sparse arrangement and warm, ethereal production, "Neverride" wonderfully showcases Castle's haunting voice and timeless guitar plucking. Ever-so-slightly modernizing the outsider folk of heroes like Vashti Bunyan, "Neverride" suggests great things to come.
Download "Neverride" here and get set for Castlemusic on April 26, when it will be released via Flemish Eye. In fact, you can pre-order the record here on the Flemish Eye website.
Also, Castle will be playing a release show at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto on May 19. A few days earlier, she will also play Montreal on May 15 at Silver Flag. More tour dates are expected to be announced soon.
