Jeff Sharel

Better known to some for his contributions to Fredric Galliano's Frikyiwa collection, producer Jeff Sharel's injects the elements of jazz, house and reggae throughout this three-track EP. The title track opens up with straight-up, cool jazz drums and layers of handclaps and other percussive sounds before hitting hard with psycho-dub vibes and a smooth lead trumpet line. The latter element gets hazy over a sleazy house groove courtesy of remixers Mateos & Matos. Things round out in the end with "Nyabinghis," a simple roots riddim that's interrupted with 909 kicks and bubbling hot with dubbed-out chords.
