JEFF the Brotherhood Dropped from Warner, Call Label a "Demented Vulture"

JEFF the Brotherhood Dropped from Warner, Call Label a 'Demented Vulture'
Rock duo JEFF the Brotherhood had already announced that their new album Wasted on the Dream would be coming out through Warner Bros. Records. Surprisingly, just two weeks from its planned March 3 release date, the band have announced that they have been dropped from the label.

This evidently won't hold brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall back too much, since the record will be coming out just a few weeks late, on March 24, through their own Infinity Cat Records.

In a statement, the pair expressed relief at the news, calling Warner Bros. a "demented vulture" and saying that they "feel as though a heavy weight has been lifted from our shoulders." They added that the reign of major labels is over, and that their own imprint "has its shit together more than the big guys." The album can be ordered on CD or vinyl here.

Read the full statement below. Scroll past that to check out the band's tour North American spring schedule, which includes seven stops in Western Canada. The previously unveiled album track "Coat Check Girl" is streaming at the bottom of the page.

Hello friends and fans and family and hello people of the press and people of the industry!

We, JEFF The Brotherhood, are SO FUCKING PLEASED to announce that we have been DROPPED from the clutches of the demented vulture that is Warner Bros!  We feel as though a heavy weight has been lifted from our shoulders, and could not be more excited.

As for our album, "Wasted on the Dream", it is finally coming out March 24th on Infinity Cat Recordings - our spiritual, as well as literal home.

It was a very strange experience working with WBR.  Luckily, we help to run an indie label that has its shit together more than the big guys, and the announcement comes today from Infinity Cat.  The records are pressed, and we are poised and ready!

It's true what you've heard, the era of the major label is over, we have seen it first hand.  Upwards and onwards!
