The prolific young talent that is James Blake has made one of his freshest works available online in the form of a track called "Fear to Fear."
The track sees Blake taking a more maximal approach when compared with his more recent full-length and EP efforts (albeit "Fear to Fear" is still quite minimal by electronic music standards).
The short piece consists of delay-ridden vocal samples that ride over short piano stabs and pushy kick drum eighth notes. Blake then works the track into silence (a musical characteristic he seems to be quite fond of), reducing it to a mere kick pattern, then reminding you sample by sample of the ingredients "Fear to Fear" is built on.
Check out the track for yourself below.
Blake's upcoming Enough Thunder EP comes out October 11 on Atlas.
