Ever since he set up shop with his Third Man Records, we have got used to Jack White rolling out an endless string of new bands, collaborations and inventions. Now, the multi-talented rocker has unveiled his latest project: producing a single for Swedish psych rockers Dungen.
This news comes from Rolling Stone, who report that White recently recorded a new track with the band for an upcoming seven-inch and that it will be part of the label's Blue Series.
The song was laid down live to eight-track tape and is apparently a "a heavy stunning instrumental long enough to spill over both sides of a 45." Based on Rolling Stone's report, White took a hands-on approach during the session, helping the band to arrange the psychedelic jam.
There's no word on when the record will be released, but knowing White, it will be available from the Third Man website sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, Dungen are promoting their new LP, Skit I Allt, out now via Mexican Summer. They have a string of North American dates lined up, including a show in Vancouver on Saturday (October 2) and in Toronto on October 10. You can see all the band's dates here.
