Jack White Immortalized with Baseball Card

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 22, 2015

Nothing's abnormal when you're a Jack White fan — the outspoken rockist has recently had his name attached to a 3d virtual reality app and a secret furniture 7-inch. The spare rooms of White completists must be weird as hell. Now there's a new Jack White merch item to add to the collection, as the artist has been immortalized in a baseball card.

According to the Detroit Free Press [via Pitchfork], White's card will appear in the 2015 Topps Series 1 set of baseball cards, which arrive February 6.

As you can see above, White's baseball card sees the guitarist looking rather chipper, cracking a smile with his thumb erect. The image is taken from his appearance at Comerica Park in July 2014, and he's photographed wearing a vintage Detroit Stars jersey.

Other musicians in the series include Eddie Vedder, 50 Cent and Tom Morello.

After all he's done to help popularize weird releases in the vinyl arena, maybe White will now help resurrect the card collecting movement.
