Jack White's debut solo album, Blunderbuss, is slated to arrive on April 24 via Third Man/Columbia/XL, and the garage rocking entrepreneur hit Saturday Night Live last night (March 3) to preview a couple of tracks from the LP.
First, he performed the acoustic rocker "Love Interruption" with the help of an all-female backing band. Harmonizing with singer Ruby Amanfu, the performance of this single was relatively faithful to the recently released studio version.
White returned later in the show, this time with an all-male band, to perform the searing garage-punk rager "Sixteen Saltines." The fiery song included quirky lyrics about crackers, peculiarly squelchy guitar breakdowns, and a blistering solo from Jack that sounded like classic White Stripes.
