Jack Jutson

'The Babylon Nightclub Demos and Dubs' (mixtape)

No Gold went on hiatus more than a year ago, but the members of the genre-jumping Vancouver trio are evidently staying busy, since the band's Jack Jutson has just unveiled a full-length collection of demos and dubs.

Called The Babylon Nightclub Demos and Dubs, the mixtape is made up of a single 42-and-a-half-minute track. It mostly consists of chilled out dance beats which are overlaid with laid back, predominantly instrumental arrangements of tropical guitar licks and warm keyboard tones. At some points, the rhythms transition into swampy passages or more minimally urgent grooves.

The multi-instrumentlist wrote on Soundcloud, "Just some demos and dubs, thanks for listening," implying that this shouldn't be considered an album. Check it out below.

Jutson previously released a drone tape called Mother Official.
