Though former MYTHS member Quinne Rodgers' new Ivory Towers project dials down the arty aggressiveness of her old band, the Vancouver artist is still delivering dark, synth-driven soundscapes on debut EP Endling. The mini-release officially lands this Tuesday (November 4), but you can get an early stream of the set now on Exclaim.ca.
"Where We're from the Birds Sing A Pretty Song" starts off the daunting but downtempo set with a ice cavern snare echo, unsettling coos and off-kilter piano work. "The Dweller on the Threshold," meanwhile, flings haphazard harp plucking around a snap beat, spoken word passages and abstract chants.
You can check out Rodgers' Ivory Towers EP down below ahead of the official due date digitally on Bandcamp and on limited cassette, while a video for "Where We're from the Birds Sing A Pretty Song" is expected to arrive Tuesday as well.
