Frankfurt's celebrated dance institution, the Robert Johnson Club, is back with their third installment of its live DJ mix series. Twisted Parisian club legend Ivan Smagghe has contributed his signature sound to this mix, giving the listener a sneak peek into the mysterious world of Frankfurt's underground. Known for his leftfield approach to the classic four on the floor dance code, Smagghe quickly hooks in the listener with the nu-disco grooves of Gary Beck's "Drifting" and 2 Banks of Four's "Junkyard Gods," all while laying the groundwork for the madness that suddenly starts to churn. Smagghe cleverly laces quirky vocals and oddball sound effects with time-tested dance grooves, providing the listener a glimpse into a common weekend excursion at Robert Johnson. Dance industry heavyweights the Wighnomy Brothers provide a peak hour tune for this mix with "Exvola Stupp," which sets up the gradual comedown nicely, finishing the mix with a strange, yet infectious, German indie gem from 14 Reingold, appropriately titled "Dreiklangsdimensionen."
