The easily offended snowflakes on the right are being overly sensitive once again! This time, Fox News — as well as full-time social media troll Elon Musk — are mad about Green Day decrying the "MAGA agenda" in a performance of a 20-year-old song.

Green Day rang in 2024 with a performance on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest. During the appearance, vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong changed the lyrics of their 2004 single "American Idiot" from "I'm not a part of a redneck agenda" to "I'm not a part of the MAGA agenda."

It's pretty standard stuff from a band that has always leaned left politically, but Fox still devoted airtime to whining about it. The echo chambers of Outnumbered (on Fox News) and Mornings with Maria (on Fox Business Network) both parroted the same line about "raging for the machine."

Surprise, surprise — that same joke was also repeated by Elon Musk, the world's richest person, who tweeted, "Green Day goes from raging against the machine to milquetoastedly raging for it."

The very next line after "MAGA agenda" is, "Now everybody, do the propaganda." Clearly, that line remains as relevant as it ever was and doesn't need to be updated.

Green Day will release their new album Saviors on January 19. They've also announced a North American tour.
