Though they've been playing with other bands and projects these past two years, Toronto outfit Invasions are reflecting on the time they went west to hone their songwriting craft during a residency stay at the Banff Centre in 2014. Now, Exclaim! has your first listen to one of the tracks born from the residency sessions in "New Night."
Described as a track that brings together "everything the band was and meant to be for the ten years together making music," the group wrote and recorded the single alongside Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes) and Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning, who also blessed the group with his "life coaching and insane music knowledge."
The track was intended to be the blueprint for a new sonic direction Invasions would take with an EP, which could still appear one day. In the meantime, take in "New Night" in the player below.
