Vampire Weekend have finished their fifth album.
In a newsletter to fans, bassist Chris Baio told fans, "LP5 IS DONE." Pitchfork confirmed with the band's representative that their new album is indeed finished.
In a previous newsletter from earlier this year, drummer Chris Tomson wrote, "LP news by the end of the year. It's close to done and I feel like it just might be our best yet. 10 songs, no skips." He added that vocalist Ezra Koenig had written "what he considers to be 7 of his all-time top 10 best songs."
Meanwhile, Vampire Weekend are releasing Frog on the Bass Drum Vol. 02, the follow-up to this year's vinyl-only live album.
Vampire Weekend have been hinting at their fifth album for a couple of years now. Their most recent album was 2019's Father of the Bride.
