Imagika

And So It Burns

BY Sean PalmerstonPublished Dec 1, 2001

If you long for the days of yesteryear, when bands such as Forbidden, Death Angel and Testament were all the rage in the underground metal scene, then Imagika is for you. This San Carlos, CA quartet's debut album is like taking a trip backwards to the height of the Bay Area thrash scene; it is about as honourable a tribute a modern band could make while retaining their own original edge. Led by the strong guitar playing of Steven Rise, and the multi-range lead vocals of singer David Michael, And So It Burns offers up nine originals that could be a lost Forbidden album, and have the potential to become something even better in the future.
