Carlyn Bezic — U.S. Girls member and one-half of Toronto's Ice Cream — announced her solo debut as Jane Inc late last year. The artist is due to release her record Number One later this season, but in the meantime, she's offering up another cut in the form of a new single titled "Steel."

"'Steel' is about the frustration of living to work and working to live while condominiums (and the policy and bureaucracy that nurture them) slowly turn your hometown into a husk," Bezic explained in a statement.

Her new single marks the second release from Number One, following "Gem." The record will arrive via Telephone Explosion on March 19.

Jane Inc's debut album began as a solo affair, though Bezic later enlisted the help of recording engineer Steve Chahley to co-produce. The album also features contributions by Scott Hardware, Evan J. Cartwright of U.S. Girls and Aquakultre's Nick Dourado.
