With a style these French Canadians are calling "dancy-sexy,” they’re claiming to be able to bring us the first flowers of spring with their new release Rock Partouze. You never know, but this debut EP just might do it. Singing in both French and English, lead vocalist Giselle Webber is sexy in a dissonant way. The Hot Springs bring a cacophonic element to pop sensibilities that sounds like it should be an accident but somehow it works. With enthusiasm to match Les Sans Culottes and with the tasteful quirkiness of the Mink Lungs, the Hot Springs have an interesting approach to each song. These tracks are bubbly and ecstatic, edgy and unpredictable all in one sitting. It’s obvious that this young band have found a sound that it can work with.
