Hot Garbage Drop New Single "100" Ahead of 'Coco's Paradise' EP

Toronto-based psych-rock quartet Hot Garbage are gearing up to release their second EP, Coco's Paradise, on April 12. Ahead of its release, the band have shared new single "100," which aims to infuse krautrock rhythms with their trademark, Pink Floyd-inspired psych sound.

The new single was written collectively by the band as a response to the many tense headlines that mark today's troubled times. "We were all feeling a bit bogged down by the current political climate," explains guitarist and vocalist Alex Carlevaris. "So we decided to eat an especially nutritious breakfast together. We got to thinking: wouldn't it be nice to have a little getaway? And so we wrote this song. 100% of it in one day." The escapist vibes are mirrored by the EP's title and artwork.

Hot Garbage will also be embarking on an upcoming tour in celebration of the release. The jaunt kicks off at Milwaukee Psych Fest before they make their way homeward, with pit stops in Missoula, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Detroit. It all culminates in a hometown EP release show at the Baby G on May 2.
