Experimental electronic composer Holly Herndon has teamed up with Mat Dryhurst to release a lengthy new piece called "Recruit."
The work was commissioned by London-based clothing label Cottweiler to coincide with the launch of their autumn and winter 2015 line.
The song arrives with the following statement:
Recruit is a transition between environments. We answer a call, and travel to a dusty landscape where alarms, cicadas and voices swarm ominously in the wind. Improvised machinery recoils and reassembles. Wires emerge from the earth. What intelligence brought us here? What did we sign up for?
