Fans are used to seeing Jake Boyd behind the drum kit, either with Girlfriend Material or (the recently disbanded) Hollerado. Now, he's stepped out front and launched his own solo project.
He's going by the name Jakery B, and his debut single is called "The Sun Will Come Out Again." The track taps into the garage cool of the Strokes but with a giddier, harmony-drenched twist that's in line with Boyd's power-pop roots.
The song was produced by Jake's brother (and Hollerado bandmate) Nixon Boyd. Girlfriend Material bandmates Graham Wright and Josh Hook (both of Tokyo Police Club) both contributed, while Nathan Truax played bass.

This is the second Hollerado solo project to emerge in the past couple of weeks. Frontman Menno Versteeg just released an EP under the name Mav Karlo.
