When Nixon and Jake Boyd aren't playing in the power pop band Hollerado, they also make up one half of the Toronto-based four-piece Stella Ella Ola, who are currently prepping an EP to be released later this month.
The EP is called Stella Ella Ola 2, and it will be released as a free download on Tuesday (July 31). As the title indicates, it follows the group's previous self-titled EP, which came out on Bandcamp this spring and is still available for free.
The mini-collection includes three songs. These were recorded live off the floor at Tokyo Police Club's practice space with production duties handled by Nyles Miszczyk and Justin Ladd. The only overdubs are vocals and handclaps.
Check out a homemade video clip for the catchy opening song "Summerette" below. It was put together with no budget using found footage and clips from a weekend at a cottage.
