Hollerado's Nixon Boyd has gone solo, as the band's guitarist and occasional singer has shared his debut single, "Every Time We Turn a Corner."
The song is a soft, tuneful indie rock number that's filled with classic pop melodies. Boyd said in a statement, "I wanted this song to say something about the really small moments where there's a little breakthrough in a relationship. I hope it gives a shape to the kinds of changes that can happen between two people which are so tiny they might be hard to notice."
The song comes accompanied by a cute puppetry video directed by Boyd's partner Anne Douris. She also painted the single's cover art. Check out the video below. It's out through Royal Mountain Records.
A press release notes that Boyd's solo project faced a setback when his car was broken into and his laptop containing all of his in-process work was stolen. He then recorded everything note-for-note.
Hollerado parted ways in 2019. They're briefly reuniting later this year for a couple of live shows. The band's Menno Versteeg also just shared his first single under his own name.
