There's something to be said for wearing your influences on your sleeve (a record sleeve that is). The new CD from Vancouver's Hissy Fit owes a certain debt of gratitude to the Pretenders, and they certainly aren't afraid to admit it. With cover art that Chrissie Hynde herself would approve of and a cover version of "Precious," this new record features a more rocking sound than previous outings. The punk attitude is still there, and it would be misleading to say their sound has matured, progressed is a better way to describe it. With seven songs filled with thick and chunky guitars and snarling vocals, it's definitely a progression in the right direction.
