Until now, there have been naught but whispers about Don Cheadle's in-the-works biopic based on jazz legend Miles Davis. Now, somebody has spoken in an audible tone that fellow jazz icon Herbie Hancock has been tasked with composing a score for the film.
As Paste reports, Hancock will score the as-yet-untitled film, for which Cheadle is co-writing the screenplay, as well as directing and playing the lead role.
Davis's nephew, Vince Wilburn Davis, Jr., has confirmed that the script is nearing the finishing stages. "We're in the process of okaying the script with a new writer," he told YBR. "Don didn't like the other writer that was attached to the movie, so there's a new writer named Steven Vegelman that Don's writing with. Once the script is okayed by the family, then we go into production."
