Henri Ferguson has lived all around the world and has been busy soaking up varied musical flavours. On Missing the Boat, Ferguson tries to regurgitate most of those influences and along the way does some very convincing takes on reggae ("Life Is An Ocean"), country ("Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart") and about a half dozen other genres. Coming off a bit like the Jimmy Buffet of world travellers, Ferguson's musical merry-go-around is ultimately his undoing as the album lacks the kind of musical glue and consistency to hold the whole project together.
