Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Crown Lands, Lights and MAUVEY, the Rural Alberta Advantage, Shania Twain

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Feb 3, 2023

Keep your head up, your crown is falling! It's finally February, and amid the bleak mid-winter, Canadian artists are celebrating a fresh — albeit probably snow-covered — slate.

Crown Lands are fearless, Lights and MAUVEY have the time of their lives together, and the Rural Alberta Advantage channel English novelist Richard Adams.

This week sees album releases from the dancing queen herself, Shania Twain, and the idyllic return of Vanille (La clairière).

Elsewhere, Ducks Ltd. cover the Feelies, Sunnsetter parses out the difference between talking and speaking, Kris Ulrich humbly admits to not being big in the US (yet) and Lune très belle grow wings. Stars get the remix treatment, while Loig Morin and N NAO also breathe new life into revisitations of their work.

Embrace the sparkling possibility of everything with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
