Connecticut-based hardcore crew Hatebreed were forced to defend their honour this summer when a CNN article labelled them a white power band, which yielded a retraction from the news corporation. The long-running act are hoping the new year brings them good fortune via the release of their sixth full-length, The Divinity of Purpose.
The follow-up to 2009's self-titled set arrives in North America January 29 through the band's new label, Razor & Tie, while it drops in Europe through Nuclear Blast on January 25. You can check out the artwork, crafted by illustrator Eliran Kantor (Testament, GWAR, Sodom), up above.
A press release notes that the album was co-produced between Hatebreed, Zeuss (Suicide Silence, All That Remains, Shadows Fall) and Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold), who also had a hand in mixing the record.
Hatebreed are currently touring across the U.S. and will hit up Europe early in 2013. You can check out their current itinerary over here. While it can't be confirmed just yet that the band will make it into Canada for The Divinity of Purpose's promotion cycle, the press sheet says the band will be touring well into 2014, so keep your fingers crossed.
