Venezuelan-born, Montreal-based singer-songwriter José Lobo has announced his debut album, In All Good Hope, out October 27 via Victory Pool

Recorded mainly in the sleepy suburbs of Hamilton, the bossa nova-inspired album, with its intimate lyrics, delicate instrumentation, and gentle vocals, is, in Lobo's own words, "a reverie of the quotidian." The album features songs sung in Portuguese, Spanish, French and English, commemorating Lobo's nomadic upbringing in Venezuela, Brazil, France and Canada.

Today he shares the first taste of the album, "TBTBNM (todo bien todo bien nada mal)."

Lobo said about the song in a press release: "The title is a phrase I said a lot when a friend would ask me how I was doing and it's something like can't complain and the literal translation is 'All good, all good, nothing bad,' and it's one of those phrases where, depending where the comma is placed or the way that is said, it can mean from 'Just pushing through,' to 'I'm thriving,' and I think the lyrics really speak to those two corners of my emotional landscape."

The song arrives alongside a music video filmed in New York City with a vintage Super 8mm camera by Lobo's friend and collaborator, Fernando Rodriguez. Watch it below, where you'll also find the album's tracklist.
