After unveiling the cover art and release date last week, Halsey is back with another look into the world of her fourth LP If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power in the form of a trailer for an hour-long IMAX film of the same name.
Halsey both wrote and stars in the Colin Tilley-directed feature, which includes music from the forthcoming album produced by Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Reznor and Ross recently won their second Academy Award for Best Original Score for their work on Pixar's Soul.
The pop star previously shared that If I Can't Love, I Want Power is a concept album about "the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth." Likewise, the trailer ominously states: "This film is about the lifelong social labyrinth of sexuality and birth. The greatest horror stories never told were buried with the bodies of those who died in that labyrinth…"
Halsey was pregnant with her first child at the time of filming the Game of Thrones- and Marie Antoinette-inspired visual. It seems to be a fantastical period piece with themes of motherhood and mysticism running throughout. We also hear dramatic, atmospheric snippets of new music — as the voiceover cautions, "This woman will not go quietly" — and we're ready to crank it loud.
While a list of theatres and cities has yet to be announced, tickets for IMAX showings of the film go on sale August 3.

The album arrives August 27 via Capitol Records.
