HAIM are about to get cinematic, as it's been revealed the trio will be contributing new original music for the upcoming Netflix film The Witch Boy.

The upcoming animated feature — based on the graphic novel series of the same name by Molly Knox Ostertag — will be directed by Minkyu Lee. The Witch Boy tells the story of a magical community where girls are born to be witches and boys grow into shapeshifters, with the film set to follow the tale of Aster — a boy who discovers he has emerging witch powers.

"It has been a life-long dream of mine to create an animated film that pushes the medium forward, both in content and form," said Lee in a statement. "My hope is that this film, by celebrating queerness and 'otherness,' will come to audiences around the world as something truly special."

At this point, it's unclear if HAIM will be actually scoring the film or providing a selection of songs. So far, there's no firm release date for The Witch Boy, so stay tuned.

HAIM's most recent album was last year's Women in Music Pt. III.
