It can be hard for any band to stand out amongst an oversaturated genre like metallic hardcore, which is why it is sometimes beneficial to simply roll around in the mix, much like Ferrets Gwen Stacy have been doing. Their latest drop in the bucket, The Life I Know, hardly endeavours to be something its not, but instead maintains whats been tried and true: consistent and clean breakdowns, rip-roaring throat work and a touch of softly sung vocals to smooth the whole album out. "Challenger PT. 2 brings about more melodic musicianship, while "Sleeping In the Train Yard introduces some sultry electro beats for a bit of a shift in pace. While this album isnt necessarily a must-have, it certainly deserves a listen.
