Gwar Extend 30th Anniversary North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 18, 2015

Having wrapped up their annual GWAR B-Q festival in Virginia last weekend, gory metal gods Gwar have now revealed they'll be smoking North American on another leg of their 30th anniversary tour.

A round of previously announced U.S. dates are set to get underway at the end of the month, with numerous club dates booked with opening acts Butcher Babies and Battlecross. This run of dates also features Gwar's set at Toronto's Riot Fest on September 19.

A press release now reveals that the costumed crew of Scumdogs "will return to their arctic slumber for less than a month before they return to finish the desecration of the North American continent." In layman's terms, they'll be back on the road in October.

Battlecross will be on the bill for these dates as well, while deathcore manglers Born of Osiris have also been added to the bill. It's also added that Canadian grind icons Cryptopsy will be supporting Gwar on a run of up-north appearances between Winnipeg and Vancouver.

You'll find the full details on Gwar's latest North American invasion down below.

Gwar have gone through more than a few changes over the last year, between the death of longtime frontman Oderus Urungus (a.k.a. Dave Brockie) and inter-personal issues that led to the contentious departure of Vulvatron (a.k.a. Kim Dylla).
