Los Angeles indie rock troupe Grouplove brightened everyone's Sunday afternoon after a rainy morning, with their infectious pop hooks and unavoidable energy. Running out on stage to thunderous applause and taking a few moments to just soak it in, the five-piece definitely picked a good name -- they could not have looked happier to be on stage together. Lead man Christian Zucconi was in full Bonnaroo form with his purple hair and floral tee, while everyone else joined him in expending an impressive amount of effort bouncing around the stage for the full 60-minute set. The show continued to build from openers "Lovely Cup" and "Itchin' on a Photograph," until closing with a cover of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" sandwiched between hits "Tongue Tied" and "Colours." The most memorable part of Grouplove's set was undoubtedly the high energy and good vibes they were sending through the audience, and hey, isn't having fun what all music festivals should be about?
