Groupa exemplify the vitality of the Swedish folk revival in a brilliant program featuring new vocalist Sofia Karlsson. “Isungen” features psychedelic Jew’s Harp over an almost hip-hop groove that flows into the funky title track, a wonderful example of Celtic music imbued with a very ‘90s edge. “The Woodcock” almost matches “Lavalek” for funky wildness while the yelps of joy heard during instrumentals like “Ludgo-Johan” expresses what this dynamic and feisty set is all about.
