Gracer

Voices Travel

BY Jasamine White-GluzPublished Aug 1, 2006

From the Sunny Day Real Estate and Appleseed Cast school of emo comes Gracer, a Long Island trio with a commercially viable modern rock sound. While perhaps out of place on the usually heavier Revelation label, Gracer are dreamy pop with decent hooks. Not terribly original and perhaps drowning at times in delay, Voices Travel is a safe bet for kids outgrowing their Brand New records. Production touches from Elliott’s Kevin Ratter are somewhat obvious, with Gracer sounding awfully close to Ratter’s own music.
