'Junk' includes remixes by EvilGiane and Merry Lamb Lamb

Grace Ives released her excellent sophomore album Janky Star (one of Exclaim!'s best albums of 2022) roughly a year ago, and in celebration of its anniversary, she's shared Junk (Janky Star Revisited), a collection of demos and remixes.

The eight-track release features remixes of "Loose" and "On the Ground" by EvilGiane and Merry Lamb Lamb respectively, plus demos of "Loose," "Burn Bridges," "Isn't It Lovely" and "Shelly," as well as a vocoder-heavy live version of "On the Ground."

The demos in particular are interesting, with the 2014 version of "Loose" sounding like a Ramones-esque blast of fuzzy guitar pop rather than the jittery, percussive version that appeared on Janky Star. "Isn't It Lovely" got a major overhaul on the album too, as it started out as a grunge-indebted acoustic dirge. It's a fun listen, and you can check it out below.

Junk (Janky Star Revisited):

1. Burn Bridges (2020 Studio G Acoustic)
2. Loose (EvilGiane Remix)
3. Loose (2014 College Dorm Version)
4. Isn't it Lovely (2020 Catskills Phone Recording)
5. Lullaby (2020 Astoria Phone Recording)
6. Shelly (2018 Baby's Phone Recording Idea)
7. On the Ground (Merry Lamb Lamb Remix)
8. On the Ground (Live at ____?)
