Toronto art-pop unit Goosebump will release their new album Goosebump by Goosebump at the end of the week, but Exclaim! is giving you a chance to give it an early listen.
The band brings Germaphobes members Paul Erlichman and Neil Rankin back together — joining forces with Kirsten Dahlin Nolan and Mike Duffield and switching the band's name along the way. The new record hears them establishing a definitive identity, while showing off how the band members have grown both as a group and as individual musicians.
"This album is our attempt at making something very musically direct and hopefully honest," Erlichman tells Exclaim! "Just Neil, Kirsten, Mike and myself playing in a room. The only thing more boring at this stage than two white male singer/songwriters is two indulgent white male singer/songwriters. That said, I'm looking forward to layering the next record in epic solos!!"
In the meantime, stream the slightly less indulgent Goosebump by Goosebump below. It's officially out July 6 via Pleasence Records.
