Giddy Motors

Do Easy

I imagine that if the Jesus Lizard lived on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean and had been raised on a steady diet of tea and crumpets, they’d be what Giddy Motors are. Do Easy is the English noise mongers’ overdue follow-up to 2002’s promising Make it Pop disc. Three years older and wiser, the South London trio sound like what Muse may be doing if they were more interested in pursuing their noisy side rather than their disco side. The noise that emanates from Do Easy, though, is one glorious racket. It’s as complex and nuanced as it is pulverising and brutal. In equal measures, this disc both establishes Giddy Motors as a force to be reckoned with and raises the indie/post-punk/noise rock bar.
