On Christmas Day, legendary British pop star George Michael died at the age of 53. We've yet to learn his cause of death, and a new autopsy suggests we won't know for a while.
The Thames Valley police department released a statement, saying, "The cause of death is inconclusive and further tests will now be carried out. The results of the tests are unlikely to be known for several weeks."
Though it's inconclusive, police still believe there was no foul play in Michael's death. "Mr. Michael's death is still being treated as unexplained but not suspicious," the statement added.
A representative for Michael had previously told various sources that the artist had died of heart failure. Upon his initial death announcement, his publicist said he "passed away peacefully at home."
