Experimental metal crew Genghis Tron have been on hiatus for a decade, but now that may be about to change. Out of nowhere, the Philly-based trio have emerged on their socials to tease what looks very much like a reunion.
This week, Genghis Tron took to their Instagram to post a DIY studio setting. It was accompanied by the caption "Real news coming soon. Stay Tuned," with the group then hashtagging Relapse Records.
This has led many hopeful fans to now be crossing their fingers extra hard that this means a reunion, though at this point it's unclear what Genghis Tron and Relapse have up their sleeves. After all, it could be some sort of reissue series — though definitely not a tour right now.
Genghis Tron went on hiatus in 2010, making their final album 2008's Board Up the House. When announcing their hiatus, the band said at the time they "definitely aren't breaking up, but we have decided to take some time away from the band."
So for now, stay tuned.
