The Game Detained in Canada for Two Weeks
Published Apr 20, 2011The national stoner holiday 4/20 was a big deal today, especially in the rap world. Some artists dropped new material, while West Coast rap dude the Game made plans for some Canadian concert appearances, aiming to blow some smoke in Halifax, NS. Unfortunately, he was detained at the airport for a lack of proper paperwork.
The whole thing started earlier this afternoon when the rapper revealed on his Twitter, "Been in Customs for 3 hours....... #patienceIsAvirtue." Then things took a turn for the worst when he announced his situation with the following statement through a series of tweets:
Customs officials just denied me entry into Canada. I'm sorry 2 ALL my fans but I was mislead by promoters & assured I would be able 2 enter... This just in: I'm being detained in Canada for 14 days until they process my inadmissability then I'll have a hearing heard by a judge... At that point the judge will decide to either deport me or give me a sentence for violating Canada's immigrant entry laws... F%cked up situation !!! But at least they let me call home, & tweet before they lock a n!gga up !!! Gotta turn in my property, y'all be kool... Gotta give up my phone & property. This some straight bullshit ! Flew all the way from L.A. to be denied and detained ?!?! WTF.
With that, the Game's Twitter account went silent. His scheduled Canadian tour dates are likely all cancelled, but still available below.
UPDATE: Yep, all the shows have been officially axed.
UPDATE 2: As TMZ reports, the Game has now been deported back to the U.S., apparently over his alleged gang affiliations.
