Foxygen's Jonathan Rado Goes Solo for New Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 6, 2013

California psych-pop outfit Foxygen started out the year strong by offering up their sophomore set We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic, but songwriter Jonathan Rado will splinter off from the project this fall to deliver an album of his own, titled Law and Order. An official due date has yet to be delivered, but it's expected to be issued sometime in September through Woodsist.

According to a press release, the LP was written and recorded in Rado's bedroom during a brief break from Foxygen and is described as "a deliciously self-conscious piece of esoteric apocrypha." The tracklisting has not been revealed in full, but it will include cuts like the apparently folk-soaked "I Wood" and psychedelic dance tune "Seven Horses." You can stream the set's lo-fi and flowery, '60s pop-styled "Faces" down below.

As for Foxygen, Rado and the rest of the band get back out on the road later this month, with the summer dates including a Canadian stop at Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret on August 1. You can check out the show schedule down below.
