Four Tet Drops Surprise 'Randoms' Collection

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Jun 20, 2016

Four Tet gifted us a track with an extremely cumbersome title late last month to celebrate a SoundCloud milestone. This month, he's shared an entire collection of tracks that can be downloaded for the sweet, sweet price of pay-what-you-want.

Titled Randoms, the collection brings together nine tracks that the producer (a.k.a. Kieran Hebden) made for compilation projects. "As time passes I look back at this music and find the context it was originally put in often feels a bit random now," he wrote on his Bandcamp page. "So I have put together this new album called Randoms that brings together this music in a different way."

"The oldest track here is 'Field' from 1996, the first Four Tet track ever released on Leaf Records' Invisible Soundtracks compilation. The most recent is 'Gillie Amma I Love You' which was made for a charity project called BOATS in 2013," he continued. "All the tracks here have been released before and I am sure some internet searching will give you the full details if you are interested."

Hebden also wrote that the release's kaleidoscopic artwork was made by Jason Evans.

Four Tet's last proper studio LP came one year ago with Morning/Evening. Stream and download Randoms in the player below.
