Flying Lotus Takes His Glitch-Hop Roadshow Across Canada

Besides the release of his aforementioned L.A. EPs, the third of which is due July 20 via Warp, Los Angeles glitch-hop artist extraordinaire Flying Lotus has embarked on a Canada-heavy tour, playing a bevy of club nights across our great nation.

The whole thing kicked off in Victoria earlier this week but continues tonight (July 8), as the DJ born Steven Ellison hits up Calgary's Hi-Fi club. From there, it's a lot of plane-hopping, as he'll perform in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver in a matter of five days. Flying Lotus will then head south for a handful of U.S. dates that will conclude in Jersey City on July 31.

Also, these aren't just your typical club dates. For each, Lotus has hooked up with the folks of the Red Bull Music Academy and will be leading workshops at all the shows. This means that before the nightly performances, he will lead a "couch conversation," which will also double as an info session where you can find out about the Red Bull Music Academy and the application process, and a few dates even include an Ableton Live studio workshop led by Lotus himself and a few select candidates.

Of course, as we keep telling you, Ellison is still hard at work on his Flying Lotus contribution to the DJ-Kicks series, but no new information has surfaced regarding a release date.
