The Flaming Lips recently offered up a lyric video for their "Sun Blows Up Today" single, and now that song has showed up in a new Hyundai commercial.
The advert will air this Sunday (February 3) during the Super Bowl, but can be seen now over on Billboard. It follows a family around on an all-day adventure, which kicks off with an in-kitchen, and then on-the-roof performance from the Lips themselves. The family hop into their Hyundai Santa Fe, run amok in a museum, get chased by a biker gang, and even let one of the kids run wild in one of those plastic bubbles Wayne Coyne crowd surfs in. You can see the cross-promotional effort at Billboard.
While "Sun Blows Up Today" is being sold on iTunes now, Hyundai will apparently give away 100,000 free downloads of "Sun Blows Up Today" at hyundai.com. It's unclear if the free download will be available in Canada.
The Lips' new LP, The Terror, drops on April 2 through Warner Bros.
