Firebird

Firebird is something of a stoner metal super-group. Featuring members of Cathedral and Spiritual Beggars backing up former Carcass guitarist Bill Steer, the band sounds more like the first two. To say this is a little retro-sounding is an understatement. Harkening back to the classic power trio sound of the late '60s/early '70s, this is a classic rock record through and through that may upset die-hard Carcass fans. Nine original tracks and a cover of the Traffic classic "Stranger To Himself" makes Firebird a nice trip through the musical styles of yesteryear. This would sound even better on a dusty old LP.
