Fine Times

'Fine Times' (album stream)

Vancouver pop pair Fine Times recently inked a deal with the city's Light Organ Records, and they will drop their self-titled debut album through the label on Tuesday (September 18). If you want to preview the music before you make your purchase it, you can now stream the entire thing from Exclaim.ca.

The disc was recorded with local pop-rock producer Howard Redekopp (Tegan and Sara, the New Pornographers, Mother Mother) at the Warehouse Studio. The results blend what a press release describes as the producer's "trademark vintage synths" with band members Matthew Moldowan and Jeffrey Josiah Powell's pop-oriented songs.

Moldowan said in a press release, "I have a short attention span so if a record doesn't catch me in the first listen or two, I probably won't put it back on the record player." This explains the band's fondness for concise, punchy and hook-laden tunes.
