Atlanta singer-songwriter Faye Webster has announced a North American fall tour, including a pair of Canadian shows, alongside the release of the towering "But Not Kiss" — her first new single in two years.

"I think it could be a really romantic song or a really anti-romantic song," Webster explained the single's push and pull in a statement. "It's something I've looked for but struggled to find in other love songs, for them to describe this conflict or contradiction."

According to the artist, the new track's careening between maximalist romanticism and twangs of ambivalence "says a lot about what's coming" in terms of the follow-up to her most recent LP, 2021's excellent I Know I'm Funny Haha — one of the best albums of that year. In 2022, she also released an orchestral EP called Car Therapy Sessions.

The singer-songwriter's headlining North American run begins on October 17 in Washington. She'll play Toronto's History on October 27 before making her way westward to Vancouver's Vogue Theatre on November 3. Webster will finish off the tour with a hometown show on November 17.
